The Darkest Minds: First Impressions

WARNING: The following post contains MINOR spoilers found only the first three chapters and/or the back of the book.

So what happens when you use a magical notebook that can kill people to kill off the entire world's criminals?

WAIT.

WRONG STORY.

So what happens when you use a magical notebook to kill children for a random reason?

Ahahah, SHUT UP, BRAIN.

But seriously. When a deadly (You don't say?) plague starts Death Note'ing children and causing them to keel over and die (ergo, Death Note references) for no apparent reason, the entire country goes into a panic.

NATURALLY the best idea is to put the survivors in a slave camp! Right? Right?

OH HEY, let's put a kid with Charmspeak and/or Geass in there, too. Because everyone loves the kid that can tell the jerky soldier to off herself and the soldier gladly complies! Right?

Wait wat

Oh yeah, the survivors apparently turn out with weird abilities. No wonder the government is scared of them.

NATURALLY THE BEST IDEA IS LOCK WHAT YOU'RE SCARED OF IN A SLAVE CAMP, RIGHT?

You know what I say to that?

But seriously, this book is great so far. And by so far, I mean a prologue and three chapters. I did have to read a scene twice to (try to) understand what just happened, then I was like... okay. But then something similar happened again.

And then I was like

And then I was like, "RUBY YOU FREAKIN' ME THE HEX OUT."

And then the chapter ended and we had to go home so I haven't read past that part yet so boo.

- Books are GREAT, GUYS.
