  1. On Divergent:

In my opinion, the first book was great. Like I've said, I couldn't put the thing down and couldn't stop thinking about it. It was wonderful. When Insurgent came out... ... ... Yeah, my definition of a good book got overhauled to describe Insurgent. Obviously you know the heart-pounding feeling you get when a book is on its climax, ya know? I described Insurgent as starting with that same feeling from the end of Divergent and then elevating it from there. And the ending... I think that's probably the only cliffhanger that beat out MoA in terms of 'NEXT BOOK NOW, PLEASE', but I won't elaborate. Jen described Divergent as the first part of a movie. That is, the entire book simply serves for staging everything, and the real action can begin in the last 2/3rds of the story, much a like a movie. And really, I couldn't agree more.
